Ella Jean Smith

Ella Jean Smith, age 92 of Pioneer, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Jamestown, TN on April 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Lonzie and Eartha Wright Janes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Smith; two brothers, Evert (Bud) Janes and Robert Lee Janes; 8 sisters, Joyce Byrd, Evelyn Birchfield and husband Howard, Clara Reynolds, Christine Gwinn, Barbara Hummell, Diane Lowe, Maxine Janes and Pauline Janes; special friends, Aree Moffett and Sonia Smithers.

Ella is survived by her brother-in-law, Wiley Lowe; special niece, Judy Ann Burford and several other nieces and nephews; special friends, Donald Smithers, Donna Hutson and family, Ann Smithers and family, Matthew Smithers, Betty and Ed Goad, Pat and Rus Black and family, Pearl Jeffers and family, Scott and Judy Griffith and Dani Moffett; many other relatives and friends. 

A very special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center for their kindness shown and for taking such good care of Ella.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Hutson officiating. Music will be provided by Ann Smithers and Jamie Day.

Committal service will follow in the Peaceful Rose Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community.
