Ples Daniel Storey

Ples Daniel Storey of the Mt. View Community departed this life on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at UT Medical Center. He was born March 23, 1946 in the Black Creek Community. His parents were Ples and Arzonia Storey. He was a 1964 graduate of Robbins High School and a U.S. Army veteran from 1964 to 1967, serving in Korea. 

Ples married his high school sweetheart Wanda Sims on December 22, 1964. He was a devoted member of the Black Creek United Baptist Church, serving as past Sunday school superintendent and teacher. 

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Glois Storey, Martha & Fred Phillips, Joe C Storey, Archie Storey, Floyd & Emma Storey, Charles Jones; and his father and mother-in-law Lenord and Ruth Sims. 

He is survived by his wife of 54 years - Wanda Sims Storey - and his children: Mike Storey, Martin & Denise Storey, all of the Mt. View Community; Melisa & Michael Stephens, Mona & Michael Queen, all of the Elgin Community. Grandchildren: Kodi Stephens & Heather, Gary Queen & Mallory, Lexi Storey, Jace Storey, Garra Queen, Rachel & Jeremay Richardson, and Leah & Jayleigh Bowling. Brothers and sisters: Sam & Donna Storey, Pearl Kidd, Delma Jones, Rita Storey, Eddie Sims, Betty & Dennis Brown, and Larry & Sue Sims. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, his very dear friends from Plateau Drugs, and Dr. Richard Bourdeaux & staff. Ples (Pawpaw) had a soft heart for the children in his life. He was a loving husband, father and Pawpaw. Any one of his children would agree that their most precious lessons were taught by their father.

Friends may visit with the Storey family on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with  Bro. Mike Carroll officiating.   Music will be provided by Pam Bowling and the Black Creek Church Choir.  Committal service will follow in the Storey Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Michael Storey, Martin Storey, Michael Stephens, Michael Queen, Kodi Stephens and Gary Queen.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Lexi Storey and Jace Storey.
