Vergie R. McCoy, age 73 of Oneida, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her home. Born in Scott County, TN on January 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Laura Jeffers Ellis. She was a member of the Annadale United Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford and Harold Ellis; one sister, Evelyn Ellis; grandson, Joshua Wright; sisters-in-law, Burnell Ellis, Bertha Ellis and Virginia Ellis; and brother-in-law, Alex Busicnki.
Vergie is survived by her daughter, Theresa McCoy; son, Bobby McCoy and wife Essie; granddaughters, Felecia George and Shasta McCoy; great grandchildren, Aaliyah and Aiden George and Anthony and Kahlan Hutson; sisters, Hazel Busicnki and Nora Phillips; brothers, Onvie Ellis, Tilvis Ellis and wife Evelyn and Clifton Ellis and wife Elizabeth; special nephew, Jim Thompson and wife Jean; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the McCoy family on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Ellis and Bro. Pete Babb officiating. Music will be provided by Jamie and Toni Byrd.
Graveside service will be on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Ellis Cemetery in the Buffalo Community. Pallbearers will be: Joe Brooks, Bradly Brooks, Joe Monroe, Charles Bond, Joey Massengale and Matthew Massengale. Honorary pallbearers will be: Joyce Green, Mary Chambers, Lisa Foster, Janie Brown, Betty Chitwood and Margie Daugherty.
