Alma Laxton

Alma Thomas Laxton, age 90 of Oneida, TN entered into rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Trinity Hills of Knoxville, TN. Born in Oneida, TN on September 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Walter Roy Thomas and Rachel Clementine Phillips Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Laxton; two brothers, Richard Harris Thomas and Ray (Joyce) Thomas; two sisters, Virginia Alberta Thomas (Lloyd) Collier and Audrey Thomas (Earl) Coombes; sister-in-law, Celia Jo Thomas; two children, Karen Laxton and Wesley Laxton; and two sons-in-law, Craig Robinson and Joey Conatser.

Alma is survived by her brother, Roy Thomas; 8 children, Marilyn (Rick) King, Jackie (Ben) Thompson, Mike (Erma) Laxton, Trish Robinson, Jeff (Holly) Laxton, Darryl (Norma) Laxton, Stacy (Henry) Marcley, and Scott Laxton (Toni); 24 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, DeNeil Laxton; 2 sisters-in-law, Virlie Joe Byrd and Molly Cooper; brother-in-law, William Esau Laxton; and many other relatives and friends.

We would like to thank Trinity Hills of Knoxville for taking such good care of our Mother.

Graveside service will be on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 3 p.m. in the Laxton Cemetery in Oneida with Bro. Dilbert Terry officiating.

Family will meet at Jones & Son Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
