Ann Hamby

Charlotte Ann Anderson Hamby, age 63, went home to meet Jesus on Sunday, September 29, 2024, after losing a courageous battle to cancer. Ann was born April 27, 1961, to Charles and Margaret (Sexton) Anderson.

She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents and youngest brother Anthony (Tom) Anderson.

She is survived by her three children, Danny Anderson, Justin Hamby, and Ashley (Jordan) Chitwood; two special nieces that she raised as her own, Katelynn and Madison Anderson; grandchildren: Michealan Stanley, Ivy and Charley Anderson, Liam, Connor, Flynn and Theodore Chitwood; special grandson, Breagan Judy; two brothers, Dennis (Lisa) Anderson and Kenny (Dale)Anderson, as well as a host of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

Ann was a friend to all and never missed an opportunity to help others in need. Her home was a safe haven to anyone needing a place to stay. Ann lived life to the fullest, always smiling and laughing while spending time with her family. She loved watching her grandkids perform in their after-school activities. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church until her illness prevented it. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Friends may visit with the Hamby family on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. David Grove officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in the Smokey community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
