Archie 'David' Young

Archie “David” Young, age 79, of Robbins, TN passed away peacefully at the University of Tennessee Medical Center on November 28, 2024, with his wife, of 50 years, and his children by his side.
David was born May 18,1945 to the late Zane and Martha Goad Young of Robbins, TN. David retired from Highland Telephone Cooperative in 2008 after 40 years of employment. He was a proud union member of Communication Workers of America. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on July 14, 1966. David was a simple man who lived a simple life but there wasn’t anything simple about him.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his siblings:  Eli Young and wife Carla, Billy Joe Young, Sally Ann Young Poe and husband Gerry, Drexel Young Ward and husband Don, Charlie Young, and Harold Young; nieces:  Tanya Young and Jenny Poe; father and mother-in-law: Clark and Opal Wilson of Robbins, TN.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years:  Louise Young; son:  Anthony Young; daughter:  Amanda Young, all of Robbins, TN; grandchildren:  Peyton Young of Georgetown, KY and Chapel Lay of Robbins, TN; great-grandson:  Dawson Clouse of Harriman, TN; nieces and nephews:  John Young, Joseph Young, and Jason Young all of Dayton, OH, Derek Young (Beth) of Soddy Daisy, TN, Kym Strom (Colby) of Cumming, GA, Veronica Huliba (David) of Dayton, OH, Jan Thompson of Cincinnati, OH, Miranda Young of Winona, TN, and Holly Soderbum (Ian) of Cookeville, TN, great nieces and nephews:  Jared Strom and Andrew Strom of Cumming, GA, Chloe Young of Soddy Daisy, TN, and Ivy Soderbum of Cookeville, TN; in-laws:   Phyllis Young of Dayton, OH, and Sandra Young of Robbins, TN; special friend:  Etheridge Strunk of Capital Hill, TN; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Young family on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smithers officiating.

Committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins, TN.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
