Avery Honeycutt, age 80, departed peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1944, in Scott County, TN to the late Elizabeth Crabtree Honeycutt and the late John C. Honeycutt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy M. Smith; brothers, Edward Honeycutt and Arzo Honeycutt; sister, Ida Bell Honeycutt; brother-in-law, Lee Coffey; father and mother-in-law, Dewey and Junie Stephens.
Avery is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nella Mae (Stephens) Honeycutt; son, Avery Lee (Teressa) Honeycutt; daughters, Averice (Donald) Russell and Tammy (Mark) Lawson; grandchildren, Justin Honeycutt, Averice Chantell, Whitney Russell, Destiny Lawson, and Markus Lawson; great-grandchildren, Amarion Gipson and Brynley Taylor; brother, Porter (Dianna) Honeycutt; sisters, Dessie Coffey and Essie (James) Lowe; sisters-in-law, Lola Dean Honeycutt and Clairian Honeycutt; many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Friends may visit with the Honeycutt family on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Silcox officiating. Music will be provided by Alora Beth Lowe.
Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
