Barbara Lou Sexton, age 87, of the Pioneer community entered into Heaven gates on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the Tennova North Hospital. She was born on January 7, 1937 in Campbell County, Tennessee to the late L.C. and Mary Jane Lowe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester A. Sexton; infant daughter, Donna Kaye Sexton; brothers, Emmon Lowe and David Lowe, Sr.; sisters, Junie Leach, Helen Wallace, Laura Lowe Strunk, and Reba Smith; granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Griffith; grandson, Brett Davidson; sons-in-law, Archie Ellis and Jim Lenick.
Barbara is survived by daughters, Linda Lenick, Sandra J. Mays and husband Mitchell Mays, Brenda Sexton, Tina Jeffers and husband, Larry Jeffers; grandson, Billy Joe Griffith and wife Kiley Griffith, Lucas Ellis and wife Emily Ellis, and Mathew Blakley; granddaughters, Amber Ellis, Jessica Phillips, Erica Cooper and husband Ben Cooper; many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; Special thanks to a God sent Angel, Mona Lisa Lowe Harris and a special thanks to Buckeye Medical Equipment.
Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. In the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Yancey officiating.
Music will be provided by Christel, Cindy, Bo, Beth, Patty and Julia.
Committal service will follow in the Scott Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Mitchell Mays, Billy Joe Griffith, Ben Cooper, and Lucas Ellis. Honorary Pallbearers: Fate Cooper and Draven Griffith.
