Beatrice K. Huff

Beatrice Kesterson Huff age 87 of Oneida, TN departed this life on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 20, 1936, in Lancing, TN. She was the daughter of the late Jefferson Roland and Mary Matilda Kesterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Jefferson Roland and Mary Matilda Kesterson; sisters:  Euna Christian, Betty Joyce Pemberton, Lela Ferrel Smith and Ella Frances Robbins;  and brother:  Joseph Riley Kesterson.

Bea was a pioneer in rural home health care in Scott County serving as a visiting nurse and Director of Nursing for local Home Health Agencies. She also taught LPN and CNA classes at the Vocational School.  After that, Bea was integral in starting the anti- drug movement in Scott County by co-creating the STAND movement. This program was well received from a statewide perspective. She was involved in her community and loved her church.  Bea is survived by her five children, sons- Maxwell Huff II of Oneida, TN, Warren Huff of Simpsonville, SC, Avery Huff of Knoxville, TN, Nathan Huff of Oneida, TN, daughter-Alison Smith and husband Michael Smith of Clinton, TN, grandchildren-Angelique Huff, Aija Huff, Hannah and Logan Pack, Haley Huff, Rachel Smith, Hayden Huff, Julianne Smith, Jada Huff, and Mila Huff, and one great-grandchild Hallie Barnes with her second great-grandchild due in February, sisters-Jane King of Harrogate, TN and
Charlotte Kries of Lancing, TN, and one sister-in-law-Jewell Scott. She was also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers over the years and special friend and caregiver Felicia Spears and grand-daughter Angelique Huff.

The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time at First Baptist Church of Oneida. 

Committal service will follow in the Lane Cemetery in Morgan County. Rev. Roland Kesterson will officiate. Nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
