Bert Wilson, Jr.

Bert Wilson Jr., age 76 of Oneida, Tennessee, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at the Big South Fork Medical Center.

He was born on January 19, 1946 in Cinncinati, Ohio to the late Bert W. Wilson and Nancy (Points) Wilson Gorman. In addition to his parents, Bert is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon (Bush) Wilson; children David Bush and Sandy Reed; and a grandson, Randall Wilson. 

Surviving family include his daughter, Marie Chitwood (and Chris) of Oneida, Tennessee; grandchildren, Crystal Gray, Chad Reed, Raiden Chitwood, Kiana Chitwood, and Kailee Chitwood; and great-grandchildren, Alijah and Kaiden Reed.

Also surviving are Bert's sisters, Donna Lovitt of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Verna Crabtree of Strunk, Kentucky; a daughter-in-law, Margie Bush of Norwood, Ohio; and several friends and extended family that Bert loved dearly. 

Bert was a member of the Black Oak Baptist Church in Oneida and was a Veteran of the United States Army. After his service time, Bert began working with GE.  He had a love for music and anyone who truly knew Bert, knew how much he loved bluegrass music and attending bluegrass festivals. He would travel miles to see his favorite artist and attend their shows. He also enjoyed collecting knives and coins. Although Bert had many outside hobbies, loved nothing more than being a papaw. He loved his family, especially his grandbabies, more than anything. Bert will be deeply missed by all.
 
Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Keeton officiating. Burial to follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 115 of Stearns, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
