Billie Joe Goad

Billie Joe Goad, age 89, of Sunbright, TN, passed away in his home on Saturday, August 23, 2025.  He was the son of the late William Joseph and Gladys Evelyn Scott Goad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers:  Jack and Bernard Goad; and sister:  Barbara Goad Hutson.

Billie is survived by his wife:  Mattie Overton Goad; daughters:  Gayle Goad and Susanne Goad; sister:  Betty Goad Weber; as well of other family members and friends.

Billie served two years in the United States Army and retired from Martin Marietta at the Y-12 plant as a machinist.  He was known for his honesty and generosity and loved watching westerns and eating vanilla ice cream.

The family would like to send a special Thank You to his caregivers.

It was Billie’s request that there be no public services, flowers or memorials.  A private graveside service will be held in the Lone Mountain Cemetery in the Brimstone Community of Robbins.
