Billy Wayne Smith

Billy Wayne Smith, age 68, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his home.  Born September 23, 1956, in Oneida, TN, he was the son of the late Estel and Dorise Gibson Smith.  He was a wonderful father and took pride in being a papaw.  He was an active member of the Smokey Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother:  Eddie Smith; his children: Heather Lynn Smith and John Paul Smith; and former wife:  Barbara Baker.

Billy is survived by his brother:  Junior Smith; daughter and son-in-law:  Stephanie and Michael Sills; two granddaughters, whom he loved dearly:  MaKynlee and Paislee Sills; step-children:  Michelle Brooks and Junior Keck; along with a host of family and friends.

Friends may visit with the Smith family in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Billy Lowe officiating. Music will be provided by the Mason Family.

Committal service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Smokey Creek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Danny Smith, Kevin Smith, James Phillips, Dakota Phillips, Junior Keck and D J Pennington.  The procession will leave Jones & Son Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m.
