Brenda Evelyn Sexton Obituary

Brenda Evelyn Sexton, age 86 of Oneida, TN passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Bebington, Wirral in Cheshire, England on April 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John James and Alice Littler Wardle.

Brenda was a loving wife, sister, mother, nanny, and friend. She was a true “Queen” who always lived life to the fullest and made everyone’s life full of laughter and joy just by being around. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Kenneth Kermit Sexton; children: Clifford Graham and David Lee Sexton; mother and father-in-law Hannah and Kermit Sexton; brother John William Wardle; sister Jean Phyllis Jones and husband Fredrick; brothers and sisters-in-law: John Francis Crayton, Cholene and Ervin Jeffers, and Steve Sexton.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Tracey Miller and husband Tim; 3 grandchildren: grandson Jason Miller and wife Carmen, granddaughter Jenna Smith and husband Eric, grandson Mark Miller; 5 great grandchildren: Britton, Macon, Ellie Faith, Rhett, and Beckham; sister Marjorie Littler Crayton; daughter-in-law Karen Lay; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joyce Wardle, Dennis Sexton and wife Carolyn, Carolyn Sue Smith and husband Joe; a host of many other relatives and friends. 

Special friends: Lou Ann Smith and the loving, caring, staff of the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center.    

Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Bradley Kidd and John Crayton officiating.

Music will be provided by Claudia Tillman.

Committal service will be on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Sexton Memorial Cemetery in Oneida.

Pallbearers will be Jason Miller, Mark Miller, Eric Smith, Shane Smith, Zach Smith, and Rhyne Douglas.
