Carolyn Claborn

Carolyn Marie Lay Claborn, age 76 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the North Knoxville Medial Center in Powell, TN, with her son Jason by her side.  Born June 23, 1947, in Scott County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Hugh L. and Ollie Jeffers Lay.  She was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband:  Milford Claborn; sister:  Evelyn Lay; brothers:  Kenneth P., Floyd F., and Billie Phillips; and sister-in-law:  Irma Phillips.

Carolyn is survived by her son and caregiver:  Jason Claborn; step-son:  David Claborn and wife Marilyn of Maryville; brother:  Glinn W. Phillips of Robbins; sister-in-law:  Laverne Phillips of Oneida; special friend:  Carolyn Chambers; as well as other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Claborn family on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Duvall officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.
