Carrie Newport Brown

Carrie Newport Brown, age 90, Robbins, TN passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2021, at Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN.  She was born on August 23, 1930 in Robbins TN. She was the daughter of Alfred and Mertha Henry Newport.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Boyd Brown; four brothers, Millard, Ernest (Dallas) Kermit and James Newport; two sisters Bertha (Hugo) Griffith, Irene (Bruce) Reed and great grandson Evan Garrett.

Carrie is survived by one son Harry (Karen) Brown; and daughters Sheildia Young, Harriet (Jack) Norris, Rita Brown, and Joan (Kenneth) Garrett; seven grandchildren Brandy (Shannon) Rogers, Ginger (Jeremy) Bond, Christopher Brown, Jeremy (Tiffany) Garrett, Joshua Garrett, Justin (Gina) Young, Derek (Charity) Norris and Brian (Brooke) Norris; ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Oneida Rehab Center for their excellent care.

There will be no formal visitation. Graveside service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Sexton Cemetery in Robbins, TN.
