Charles Acres Obituary

Charles Acres, age 74 of Oneida, TN passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on March 26, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles H. Acres and Helen Seabolt Watters. He was a retired college professor of Mississippi Community College in Perkinston, Mississippi. He loved flowers, riding motorcycles, and going to car shows with his brothers. He loved teaching, exploring, drawing, and the outdoors. He was a very fun and loving person and most of all he loved his family. He loved riding the train with his papaw Acres when he was a little boy. His papaw Seabolt was also very special to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Marley and Hattie Sexton; half-brother, Jody Watters; half-sister, Millie Houston; one special uncle, Bobby Seabolt; grandparents, Jim and Annie Acres and Herman and Margarett Seabolt.

Charles is survived by his wife, Carrie Lynn Acres; three sons, Ethan Acres of Texas, Harley and Dylan Acres of Mississippi; two step-sons, Shawn and Shane Boyatt; two grandchildren, Cyrus and Delilah Acres; half-brothers, Alex Watters and wife Misty of Alabama, Herman Justice and wife Alishia, also of Alabama, Mel Acres and wife Brandi, Kevin Acres and wife Lorie; stepmother, Jeanette Acres; brothers-in-law, George Sexton and wife Sheila, Ervin Sexton and wife Kathy of Winfield, Steve Sexton and wife Missy of the Pine Hill community, Tim Sexton and wife Lori of Oneida; one sister-in-law, Wilma King and husband Arthur of Oneida; lots of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. He also had classmates that loved him dearly from college.

Charles’ request was cremation.
