Charles Ross, age 84, of Helenwood, TN, passed away on December 10, 2023, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida. Born November 13, 1939, in Worley, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Earl and Dovie Boyatt Ross. Charles was a member of the Low Gap Baptist Church, and a Veteran of the United States Army.
He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who was God-centered, humble, patient, and loving in everything he did.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Mona Ruth Ellis Ross; brothers: Noble and Ronnie Ross; Daughter: Linda Marlow Terry; and son: Leslie Marlow.
Charles is survived by his daughter: Valerie Ross Boshears and husband Paul; son: Charles Lee Ross and Jayne Roysden, Louetta Marlow-Clark and Husband Jim; and Luther Marlow; siblings: Glennis Wood and husband Barry, Jean Holt, Coy Ross and wife Carolyn, Gary Ross and wife Doris, Michael Ross and wife Thelma, and Susie Ross; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special word of Thanks to Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center, Cody Pike and the entire staff at the Big South Fork Medical Center.
Friends may visit with the Ross family on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. James Taylor officiating. Music will be provided by: Helen Yancey and David Walker.
Committal service will follow in Carson Memorial Park with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Pallbearers will be his family members.
