Christine Cheatham Obituary

Christine Cheatham, age 79 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Scott County, TN on April 10, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Junie Hogue Stephens. Early in life, Christine enjoyed fishing, bingo, Christian programs, and to pass the time by she enjoyed the casino and being with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Junior Hampton of Somerset, KY; brothers, J.C. Stephens and Theodore Stephens; sisters, Thelma Jones, Alene Mullins, and Bonnie Stephens; and grandchildren, Octavion K. Hoskins and Marty Wiles.

Christine leaves behind four children: sons, Phillip Hampton of Somerset, KY and Oscar Hampton of Lansing, MI; daughters, Christa Hampton of Florida and Geraldine Cheatham of Lansing, MI; brother, Ronnie Stephens; sisters, Jean Bowling, Hazel Stephens, Nella Mae Honeycutt, Jerry Massengale; a host of many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Christine’s request was for cremation.
