Cory Wayne Sherman Obituary

Cory Wayne Sherman, age 55, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home.  Born November 17, 1969, he was the son of Tony Sherman and the late Nora Morgan. 

Cory worked as a lathe operator at Copeland Corporation before retiring on disability.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his fur babies, fishing, and hunting for mushrooms and ginseng.

In addition to his mother, Nora, he was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Eugene and Helen Sherman, and Arthur and Maudie Morgan; and father-in-law:  Roger (Jack) and Bertha Newport.

Cory is survived by his wife:  Sheila Newport Sherman and special granddaughter:  Danielle Newport, both of Oneida; children:  Lindsey Macias (Tom) of Sidney, OH, Zach Sherman (Stephanie) of Bradford, OH, Tamira Newport (Kevin) of Greenville, OH, Nick Cotterman (Cara) of Jackson Center, OH, and Todd Kelly of Sidney, OH; father and stepmother: Tony and Deb Sherman of Maplewood, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; siblings:  Amy Sharp (Chad) and Brandon Sherman (Ruby), all of Sidney, OH, Thomas Sherman (Samantha) of Maplewood, OH, and Ashley Ramirez (Carlos) of Degraff, OH; brother-in-law:  Roger Newport (Crystal) of Port Jefferson, OH; sister-in-law:  Renee Brisson (Gary) of Marysville, OH, and Bertie Newport (Larry) of Niota, TN; as well as many other family members and friends.

In keeping with Cory’s wishes, he will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
