Coy Kidd

Coy Kidd, age 81 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home. Born in Scott County, TN in the No Business community on January 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Aunton and Hester (Miller) Kidd. He was a beloved husband, father, and papa. He was a member of the Leatherwood Baptist Church and enjoyed his mules, farming, gardening, wagon riding, horseback riding, fishing, and spending time with family especially his four great grandchildren. He also enjoyed driving a school bus for 44 years. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kelly Kidd; sisters, Diane Robbins and Joyce Munoz; sisters-in-law, Judy Kidd and Patricia Kidd; brother-in-law, Earl “Buddy” Yates.

Coy is survived by Pearl Kidd; son, Coy Allen Kidd and wife Jill; two grandchildren, Coy Daniel Kidd and wife Riley and Chelsey King and husband Kyler; four great grandchildren, Parker King, Emmalyn Kidd, Coy Jaxson Kidd, Addelyn Kidd; brothers, Bradley Kidd and Doyal Kidd; sister, Georgia Yates; sister-in-law, Martha Kidd; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Quality Hospice nurses Brenda Smith and Renea Gaddes for all their care and support.

Friends may visit with the Kidd family on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will be on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Leatherwood Baptist Church with Bro. Bradley Kidd and Bro. Ashley Cooper officiating. Music will be provided by Jacob Burke and Chrisi Burke.

Committal service will follow in the Miller Cemetery in the Leatherwood community with full military honors by the U.S. Army. Pallbearers will be: John Jeffers, Collin Kidd, Daniel Kidd, Ashley Kidd, Aaron Kidd, and Drew Robbins.
