Curley Sexton Obituary

Curley Sexton, age 72 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at his home. Born in Scott County, TN on March 7, 1952, he was the son of the late Homer and Flora Stephens Sexton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Virginia Patterson; father-in-law, Emory Patterson; brothers, Homer Ray Sexton and John Robert Stephens; brothers-in-law, Jim Yancey and Jerry Sills; great grandson, Mason Ruger Sexton; nephew, Toby Franklin Foster; great nephews, Taylor Stephens and Jacoby Franklin Phillips.

Curley is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Sexton; sons, Curley Dewane and Virgie Sexton, Jerry and Patti Sexton, Michael and Rebecca Sexton, and Daniel and Ashley Sexton; brothers and sisters, Joel and Melissa Sexton of Oneida, Linda Caudill of Bowling Green, KY, Sharon and John O'Barr of Knoxville, TN, Helen Yancey of Helenwood, Kim and Frank Foster of Oneida, Lois and Robert Wright of Calhoun, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many extended family members, special friends and church family.

Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Thrive Church with Bro. Joe West and Bro. Bruce Kennedy officiating. Music will be provided by the Outreach Choir, Tony Daugherty, and Steve and Nora Chubb.

Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. Family will serve as pallbearers.
