Diana C. Perry Obituary

Diana C. Stephens Davis Perry departed this life on earth on January 14, 2025, after a long battle with failing health including lung cancer at the age of 75. She is now at peace with our Lord and Savior. She was born on April 20, 1949, to Elmon L. and Kathleen Posey Stephens in Scott County, TN.

In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her brother Ronald E. Stephens of Oneida, TN. She was also preceded in death by her children’s father M. Glenson Davis, Grandparents Robert and Elizabeth Stephens of Winfield, TN, and George and Maude Posey of Oneida, TN.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Bob), of Pike Road, AL, Michelle King of Pine Knot, KY, a son Michael G. Davis of Winfield, TN, and one grandson, Brandon Laxton of Pine Knot, KY. She is also survived by one sister, Helen Stephens, Allphin-Reed (Tony Reed) of McKinney, TX, and one brother, Royce Stephens of Caryville, TN, along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Aunts, Gayla Posey Strunk of Knoxville, TN, and Myrtle Waldroup, of Owensboro, KY, Uncles Carl Stephens of Jacksboro, TN and Herbert (Janet) Stephens of Sunman, IN, Joe (Jackie) Stephens of Winfield, TN, Lloyd (Martha) Stephens of Richmond, KY, and Clyde Stephens of San Antonio, TX.

Diana became a mother when she was just a young lady yet invested and committed herself to her children by planting a solid, spiritual moral compass in each of them, even as she was coming of age herself.

So many aunts and uncles and cousins from both families are with Our Lord in Heaven and now have welcomed her to her new home. I suspect she will strike up a good game of Rook and I can just hear her call yellow as trump and “shoot the moon.”

Friends may visit with the Perry family on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Neal officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Troxel Cemetery located at High Point Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
