Dora Mae (Chitwood) Wassenaar

Dora Mae Chitwood Wassenaar, age 84 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center.  Born April 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Pearl Keeton Chitwood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband: Robert Wassenaar; infant daughter Stacey Marcum; brothers:  George Chitwood, Louis Chitwood, Harrison Chitwood, Jr., and half-brother:  Ben Chitwood.

Dora is survived by her children:  Allen Chitwood and wife Debbie of MI, James Marcum and wife Linda of Wilmore, KY, Michael Marcum and wife Barb of South Milwaukee, WI, and Tracey Welytok and husband Rick of Milwaukee, WI; brother:  Milford Chitwood and wife Brenda of Winfield, TN;  four grandchildren;  four great grandchildren; four step-children:  Barbara, Donald, David and Robert Jr., her church family at New Light Baptist Church; as well as many cousins, other family members and friends.

A special thanks to the Oneida Nursing Home staff and Hospice; especially Brenda Smith for her help in taking care of our mother.

Friends may visit with the Wassenaar family on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fultz and Bro. Jeff Ledford officiating.  Music will be provided by Brenda Chitwood and Pam Jones.

Committal service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield, TN.  Pallbearers will be Nick Welytok, Eric Chitwood, Kenny Burchfield, and Lyden Ellis.
