Edith was a strong Christian woman and Mother. She graduated from Oneida High School where she played women’s basketball for the team. She taught school, worked at Boss Glove Factory and later at First Trust & Savings Bank. She babysat for years and likely when she was first called Ms. Edith, which was what everyone called her. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and cooking. If you never had some of Ms. Edith’s fried apple pies or chicken & dumplings, you either didn’t grow up in Oneida or you're too young to have experienced her cooking. She was also active in the community with her Women on Missions group as well as church activities including teaching Sunday school for years and managing the community room kitchen.
