Edward L. Goad, age 85 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, TN. Born on October 19, 1937, he was the son of the late Clifton and Ada Goad. After graduating from Huntsville High School in 1956, he joined the US Army and served in Germany as an Army Ranger. Ed was a businessman and a member of White Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Sexton and Ona Lee Gunter; brother, Jack Goad; and sister-in-law, Ginny Goad.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Betty Goad; sons, Dwight Goad and wife Sheila and Doug Glover and wife Kim; grandson, Brent Goad and wife Rose; granddaughter, Kendra Strunk and husband Nash; five great grandchildren, Rhett, Taylen, and Archer Goad, Kyson and Kole Strunk; sister, Charlotte Phillips and husband Kermit; brother, Keifer Goad; sister-in-law, Anna Goad; brother-in-law, George Harold Sexton; special friend, June Ross; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Goad family on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow in the Daniel Memorial Cemetery in Helenwood with Bro. Kermit Phillips officiating with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #136 of Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Brian Phillips, Dwight Goad, Brent Goad, David Sexton, Vance Goad, and Nash Strunk. Honorary pallbearers will be: Doug Glover and Dennis Goad.
