Ella Mae Hutchison

Ella Mae (Moffette) Hutchison, age 82 of Robbins, TN departed this life on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with loved ones by her side. Born in Campbell County, TN on September 21, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Edna Moffette. She was a member of Black Creek Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church. She loved attending church and singing in the choir. She loved traveling with her husband during their time in the military. She was a proud mother of her children, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Ella’s life was a blessing to those who knew her and her memory will be treasured forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Hutchison; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Bernice Hutchison; sisters, Hazel Waggoner and Wanda Brown; brother-in-law, Harold Roberts and John Brown; sister-in-law, Carol Faye Sammons.

Ella is survived by her brother, James Moffette of Robbins; sisters, Francis (Boyd) Wood of Knoxville and Jewell Roberts of Sunbright; brother-in-law, Denny Hutchison of Knoxville; children, Allen Hutchison and wife Sheryl of Huntsville, TN, Donna Sexton and husband Steven of Robbins, TN; grandchildren, Hannah Burchfield and husband Cody of Huntsville, TN, Taylor Carson and husband Luke of Robbins, TN, Alyssa Marcum and husband Byron of Lebanon, TN, Shelby Buttram of Robbins, TN, Grayson Buttram of Winfield, TN; great grandchildren, Hadley Marcum and Halle Burchfield; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friend, Kevin Melton.

Friends may visit with the Hutchison family on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 5 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Carroll and Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. Music will be provided by Jimmy and Sarah Byrd.

Committal service will be on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville. Honorary pallbearers: Allen Hutchison, Steven Sexton, Cody Burchfield, Luke Carson, Jimmy Moffette, and Kevin Roberts.
