Elvin M. (Marty) Shoemaker

Elvin M. (Marty) Shoemaker, age 72 of Robbins, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at his home. He was born on September 3, 1953, to the late Pharo and Addie Mabel Brewster Shoemaker. Marty loved the Lord, going to church, spending time with his wife, Brenda and his family. He also enjoyed being with his grandkids in everything they did. He was vice-president of BKR Service Co., working in the oil fields for over 40 years, making many friends before he retired.

In addition to his parents, Marty is preceded in death by his father and mother–in–law, Charlie Russell and Grace Hughett; sisters, Vida (Russell) Walker, Thelma Shoemaker, Donna Faye Shoemaker (David Stonecipher), and Nellie Ruth Shoemaker Burchfield; brothers, Ray (Joann) Shoemaker, Charles (Doris) Shoemaker and Harold (Vonnell) Shoemaker; brothers-in-law, Roy Branim, Junior Crabtree, Mack Hughett, RJ Hughett and Charles Ray Hughett; sisters-in-law, Juanella (Mason) Foster, Novella (Arlie) Overton, Marcella Snader, Louella (Tom) Carlton, Anna Joyce Register, Faye (Bill) Baird, Charlotte Brummett; nieces; Judy Morgan, Vicki Walters, and Hilda Lowe; nephews, Gary Walker, Tony Branim, Richard Swenfurth, Joey Snader, Danny Carlton; special nephews that he considered as brothers, Alan Shoemaker and Jerry Walker; great niece, Shadow Lowe; great nephew, Justin Thomas; and a host of other family members and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Hughett Shoemaker; son, Brent (Leslie) Shoemaker; 3 amazing grandchildren that he loved and adored, Xavier Shoemaker,
Lillie Grace Shoemaker, and Canaan Shoemaker all of Robbins, TN; sisters, Reba Branim of Dayton, OH, Margaret Crabtree of Kokomo, IN and Patty Lynch of Robbins, TN; brother, Wayne (Janet) Shoemaker of Robbins, TN; sisters-in-law, Charlene Hughett, and Barb Hughett; brothers-in-law, Esau Burchfield, Joe Snader, and Spencer Brummett; many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Shoemaker family on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Northrup and Bro. Clifford Fraker officiating.  Music will be provided by Canaan Shoemaker and Grace Shoemaker, and the church family.

Committal service will follow in the Hawn-Shoemaker Cemetery in Elgin, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Brent Shoemaker, Xavier Shoemaker, Canaan Shoemaker, Teddy Crabtree, Rowdy Lowe, Joey Baird, Phil Brummett, and Shawn Allen.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  Wayne Shoemaker, Kenneth Terrell, William Lawson and Paul Keeton.
