Emily Mae Terry

Emily Mae Acres Bauswell Terry, age 78 of Oneida, TN passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Huntsville Post-Acute and Rehab Center. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 23, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Bauswell; mother, Melvina Acres Sexton; father, Lem Acres; stepfather, William Ray “Hambone” Sexton; sisters, Carol Sue Angel and Rebecca Ann Goodman; grandchildren, Travis Lee, Dennis Lee, James Hoyle Goodman; daughter-in-law, Katherine Bauswell; niece, Hazel Goodman; nephew, Dewayne Combs; sister-in-law, Glennis Acres; brother-in-law, John Goodman; special friend, Brenda Bauswell.

Emily is survived by children, Robert and Essie Bauswell of Oneida, TN, James Bauswell of Eton, GA, Virginia and Dennis Goodman of Oneida, TN, Vicky and Luster Goodman of Huntsville, TN, Christina Bauswell of Oneida, TN; grandchildren, Derrick Bauswell, Charles Bauswell, Hoyletta Martin, Elsie West, Donald Sexton, Jr., Brianna Bauswell, Kristy Gibson, Caynon Sexton, Kelley Goodman, Brandon Goodman, Emily Bowling, Dani Lloyd, Roxanne Jones, Justin Goodman; brothers, Richard Ray Sexton and wife Connie of Dalton, GA, David Acres of Oneida, TN; sister, Linda Kay Goodman of Huntsville, TN; special friend, Dustin Terry; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Terry family on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Jeffers officiating. Music will be provided by Harry and Patty Jeffers and Karen Cooper.

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Dennis Goodman, Luster Goodman, Brandon Goodman, James Smith, David Smith, and Jordan Smith. Honorary Pallbearers: Christoper Kidd, Kamryn Bowling, Graysen Goodman, and Thomas Smith.
