Ethel Hamlett, age 83, of Huntsville, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Clinchmore, TN on August 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Columbus and Waltie Simmons Duncan. She was a member of Church of God in Helenwood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Hamlett; daughter Ethel Margie Buttram; brothers Mike Duncan and Isaac Duncan; sister Wanda Duncan.
She is survived by sons Steve Allen Buttram, Mike Buttram and wife Decie, Benny Buttram, Paul Buttram and wife Renee; daughters: Debbie Bolin, Jennifer Lopez, Mary Lou Branim and husband Gary, and Jeanie Phillips, 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
Friends may visit with the Hamlett/Buttram family on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Griffith officiating. Music will be provided by the Junior Potter Singers and Sherry Slaven.
Interment will follow in the Marcum Cemetery in Helenwood Community. Pallbearers will be Adam Martin, DJ New, Arnold Hutchison, David Phillips, Jeremiah Stephens, and Noah Walker.
With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
