Etta Lee (Hughett) Posey

Etta Lee Hughett Posey, age 89, departed this life on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born March 11, 1935, to the late Rev. Emmitt L. Hughett and Flora Mae Byrd Hughett Bell.  She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and attended West Oneida Baptist Church when her health permitted.  She enjoyed and supported the Posey Gospel Hour.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband:  Courtland Jennings Posey; step-father:  Hurstle Bell; two brothers:  Lillard Autrie Hughett and wife Imogene, and Roy Hughett and wife Rema; two sisters:  Littie Hazel Hughett Posey and husband Leon, and Ethel Hughett Byrd and husband Otto; two brothers-in-law:  Paul Posey and wife Alma, and Leland Posey; infant sister-in-law:  Reba Posey; father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Joe and Flonnie Posey Laxton.

Etta Lee is survived by two sons:  Norvan Jennings Posey and wife Theresa of Helenwood, TN, and Clark Ewell Posey and wife Leila Fay of Oneida, TN; two grandsons:  Wade Posey and wife Gwendolyn of OK, and Darrin Posey and wife Allyson of SC, and Patricia Sue Goad, mother of Wade and Darren; step-grandson:  Timothy Richardson of OH; three great grandchildren:  Alexander, Dylan and Emory; six step-great grandchildren:  Cody, Robert, Anthony, Mariella, Kathryn and Adelina; sister-in-law:  Phyllis Posey of Cincinnati, OH; two special friends:  Norma Jean Brown and Janet Sue King; and many other relatives and friends.  The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Quality Hospice and Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center, including:  Brenda Smith, Renae Gaddes and all the caregivers.

Friends may visit with the Posey family on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Craig Waters and Bro. Wayne Seabolt officiating.  Music will be provided by the Posey Family and Wayne Seabolt.

Committal service will follow in the Owens-Posey Cemetery in Oneida, TN.  Pallbearers will be Wade Posey, Darrin Posey, Jonathan Posey, Terry Posey, and Patrick Botts.  Honorary Pallbearer will be:  Paul Foster.
