Flonnie (Lawson) Jones

Flonnie Lawson Jones, age 84, departed this life on Monday January 20, 2025, at her home in Robbins, TN.  She was born to the late Johnnie and Mae Lawson, in Robbins, TN, on May 19, 1940.  She was a devoted and much-loved wife of the late Kenneth Ray Jones; she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend; she was a member of the Black Creek United Baptist Church.  Flonnie loved having Sunday morning breakfast with her family, and family meals with all her loved ones, everyone was welcome at her table, she loved and adored all children. She also loved her birds, chickens, guineas, and her dogs, she loved all animals. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Ray Jones; son: Clifford Jones and his wife Barbara Wilson Jones; son:  Ronald Jones; daughters:  Sharon Jones and Karen Jones; father and mother in law: Alfred and Cleta Jones; brothers: Francis Lawson and wife Maggie, Clifton Lawson, Curtis (Bud) Lawson, and an infant brother; sisters: Shirley Walker and husband Tom, Fannie Hargis and husband Bill, Clara McClain and husband Ray, Rita Jones and husband Dennis, and an infant sister; and nephew: Vince Jones. 

She is survived by her son: Donald Jones and wife Polly; daughter: Sandy Thompson and husband Wendell; brothers: Ciff Lawson and wife Martha of Ohio, Carl Lawson of Ohio, Jimmy Lawson and wife Bonnie of Robbins; sisters in law: Liz Lawson, Wanda Jones, and Barbara Jones McCartt; daughter in law: Cindy Jones; nephew: Dennis Jones; and wife Pauletta; niece: Debbie Free and husband Paul; Carolyn McFall and son Mike Lawson; granddaughters and great grandchildren: Jenny Gibson and husband Bub and their daughter Kendell; Becky Terry and husband Justin and their daughter Makenna, sons:  Korbin and Easton; Amanda McBride and husband Mike and their son Hunter, daughter Aliyah; Tiffany Cordell and husband Dustin and their sons Logan and Colton; Carla Duncan and husband Jason and son Ashton Teller; grandsons: Tony Jones and wife Miranda; Blake Jones; and many other family members and friends. 

The family would like to extend a ‘Special Thanks’ to Regina Carson and staff of Quality Home Health and Amedisys Hospice Care; and everyone who prayed, came to visit, and sent food, both during her illness and during our bereavement. 

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Black Creek United Baptist Church in Robbins, TN, with Bro. Mike Carroll officiating.  Music will be provided by the Black Creek Church Choir and Miranda Jones.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Dennis Jones, Blake Jones, Tony Jones, Logan Cordell, Colton Cordell, Brian Lawson Honorary Pallbearers will be: Hunter Byrge, Korbin Terry, Easton Terry, and Ashton Teller.
