Flora Sexton

On Thursday, December 8, 2022, Flora Sexton, dearly loved mother and grandmother, took her journey to her heavenly mansion at age 93 surrounded by her family. She was born to Calvin and Minnie Stephens on May 27, 1929. She was the youngest and last surviving child. She married the love of her life Homer Sexton on July 14, 1951. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, and making jewelry. She loved gospel music and lived every day for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Minnie Stephens; husband, Homer Sexton; sons, Homer Ray Sexton and John Robert Stephens; sons-in-law, Royce Caudill, Jerry Sills, and Jim Yancey; special grandsons, Toby Foster, Jacoby Phillips, Tyler Stephens, and Josh Wright.

Flora is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda Caudill of Franklin, KY, Curley (Barbara) Sexton of Oneida, TN, Sharon (John) O’Barr of Corryton, TN, Helen Yancey of Oneida, Joel (Melissa) Sexton of Oneida, TN, Kim (Frank) Foster of Oneida, Lois (Robert) Wright of Calhoun, GA, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may visit with the Sexton family on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum and Bro. Ben Neal officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Carson Memorial Park in Oneida. She will be laid to rest next to her husband. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Sills, Michael Sexton, Danny Sexton, Chris Yancey, David Dennis, and Joe Sexton.
