Frances S. Zachary

Frances S. Zachary, age 76 of the New River community, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1948, to the late Floyd Griffith and Mary Jane Griffith. Frances was a member of the New River Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Rev. Jerry Zachary and wife Betty; brothers-in-law, RD Zachary (Billie), Jerry Zachary Jr. (Thelma), and Rev. Johnny Zachary; sister-in-law, Vivian Lloyd (Carlie); sisters, Dollie Jane Griffith, Elsie Pope, Eddie Barnett, Josie Parson, Mabel Smithers, Wilma Parton, and Dorothy Hughett.

Frances is survived by her husband of 55 years, McKinley “Benny” Zachary; sons, Benji Zachary and Brad Zachary; daughter, April Braden; six grandkids, Caleb Laxton (Brandi), Austin Laxton, Kelsie Jeffers (Toby), Erica Harper (Jeremiah), Bailey Zachary, and Bralyn Zachary; eight great grandsons, the joy of her life, Ryker, Lennox, Reegan, Renly, Rowan, Lincoln, Luka, and Elijah; and very much anticipated great-granddaughter due soon, Zevie; brother-in-law, Clyde Zachary (Flonnie); sister-in-law, Doris Zachary; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that she loved dearly.

Her wishes were cremation and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
