Freddie Ray Harness heard Jesus say welcome home on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center with his family by his side. Freddie loved to fish. He was a master at smoking and grilling for his family. He loved attending church at Little Charity Ministries, where he operated the video room for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mamie (Lawson) Harness; sister, Zanny Faye Hicks; infant sisters, Brenda Sue and Dora Lee.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Stephanie Jones Harness; children, Marclyn (Tyler) Duncan, Paige (Jesse) Lawson, Katlyn Harness, Rhealey (Jake) Jeffers, and Caleb Harness; grandchildren, Kylie, Kaylie, Kira, Sadie, Bella Lawson, Taylor Duncan, Waylon King, Kason Miller, and Mason Jeffers; brothers, Bill and Richard (Wanda) Harness; sisters, Geraldine (Wendell) Carroll, June Carroll, Loretta Harness, Rosa Orlinger, Mertice Litton, Flora Jean (Doug) Gordon, Daisy (Jason) Pickens; brother-in-law, James Hicks; father and mother-in-law, Allen and Wanda Jones; sister-in-law, Stacia (Tim) Phillips; brothers-in-law, Stuart (Crystal) Jones and Stephen Jones; many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Harness family on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Little Charity Ministries with Bro. Daniel Woods officiating. Music will be provided by Stuart and Crystal Jones, Sharon Neal and Michelle Shepard, and the Neal Family.
Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Robbins. Pallbearers will be: Jake Jeffers, Tim Phillips, Stuart Jones, Stephen Jones, Roland Carson, and Jamie Neal.
