Freddie Michael 'Mike' Blevins

Freddie Michael (Mike) Blevins, age 71, of Gas City, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.  Born September 4, 1952, in Deer Lodge, TN, he was the son of the late Freddie and Ruth Jennings Blevins.  He was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church in Sunbright, TN.  Mike was a professional tree surgeon for 45 years.  He enjoyed his work and going to help clean up after disasters.  When his health started to decline, he enjoyed being home with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and watching westerns and reading true crime novels.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother:  Willis Mitchell; sister:  Donna West; grandparents:  Arnold and Ivory Kimbrell, and Bert and Mary Jennings.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years:  Dawn Blevins; children:  Allen Blevins of Huntsville, TN, Dallas (Amanda) Bloss of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Shawn (Lacey) Mohr of Blue Eye, MS, and Renee Blevins of Fair Mount, IN; brothers:  Jim (Julie) Mitchell of Marion, IN, and Paul (Renita) Blevins of Oneida, TN; sisters:  Ann (Ronnie) Morgan, and Shirley (Phillip) King, both of Huntsville, TN, Debbie Harness and fiancé Lynn of Winfield, TN,  and Louise Cleeton of Gas City, IN;  grandchildren:  Dustin, Beronica, Madison, Cory, Zachary, Lilly, Grace, Dean, Calvin, and Lincoln; several great grandchildren; many special nieces, nephews; as well as other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Blevins family on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Gadd and Bro. David Webb officiating.  Music will be provided by Jamie and Toni Byrd.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be:  Rick Holland, Jeff Cotton, Dwayne Harness, Dustin Blevins, Bradley Morgan, and Eric Blevins.
