Freeda May (Slaven) Caldwell

Freeda May Slaven Caldwell, age 85, of Oneida, TN, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center.  Born November 14, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Crusoe and Zora Terry Slaven.  Freeda was a member of the Pine Creek United Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son:  Timothy; brother and sister-in-law:  Leo and Doris Slaven; sister:  Opal Slaven.

Freeda is survived by her brother:  Harold Slaven; sons:  Jeff Caldwell and wife Denise, and Steven Malott; grandchildren:  Heather Duncan, Aaron Caldwell, Timothy Caldwell, Kelly Raines, Nicholas Malott, Matthew Caldwell, Braylen Malott, and Ashton Malott; four great grandchildren:  Kaylen, River, Jagger Raines, and Timothy Caldwell; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Oneida Nursing Center, and Quality Hospice Service for all their help over the last few months.

Friends may visit with the Caldwell family on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Marcum officiating.  Music will be provided by the Pine Creek Church Choir.

Committal service will follow in the Grave Hill Cemetery.
