Genell Boshears

Rebecca Genell Potter Boshears, age 54, of Oneida went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oneida, Tennessee on November 28, 1970. Her parents were Cleta and Sam Potter and Dillard Massengale. She was baptized into the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Cleta Potter; sisters Emiliee Amanda “Mimi” Potter and infant Cordia Lenell Potter; brothers-in-law James Harness, Jeff Boshears, and David Boshears; grandparents Irma Lee and Bill Mason, Clemmie and Elmer Massengale, and Cordia and Joseph Potter; niece, Whitney Harness; and many other loved ones.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years Roy Boshears; sons Jacob Boshears, Joshua Boshears and wife Raven; granddaughter, who was the light of her world, Paislee Kate Boshears; brother Brandon Potter and girlfriend Carmen; brother-in-law Eddie Boshears; sisters-in-law Teresa Boshears and Rhonda Boshears; and father Dillard Massengale; nieces and nephews, Ashlynn Coe, Braydon Potter, Braxton Potter, Cameron Potter, Chris Harness, Derek Boshears, Jordan Boshears, Matthew Boshears, Daniel Boshears, Issac Boshears, and Jeremiah Boshears; many other special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Boshears family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. 

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Riverview Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Buster Massengale officiating. Music will be provided by the Mason Family and Dudley Harness.

Committal service will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in the Smokey Junction community. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
