George Wayne Butler

George Wayne Butler, age 67 of Oneida, TN passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. Born February 22, 1957, he was the son of the late Louis (Mousey) and Thelma Butler.  He was a member of the Low Gap Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters:  Sue and Faye, five brothers:  Arnold, Gene, Arvil (Dude), Glen, and Sonny.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Debra Sexton Butler; daughter:  Trish (Sissy) Lawson and husband Eric; one grandson:  Issaiah Lawson, special nieces: Vickie, Mindy, Sarah, Amy and Mary, special great-nieces:  Kamillya, Kyelee, and Brianna, great nephew:  Hunter, special friends:  Dr. Thacker, Cooper Beaty, Becky Huddleston, Doyle and Lois, Ken, Charles, and Lois, Travis and Ruth, Lynn and Debbie, Wayne and Tammy, Ronnie and Donny, David and Andy, Jason, Tammy and Sandy (Sweet Pea) and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Butler family on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. David Walker officiating. Music will be provided by Bro. David Walker and wife, Felecia. 

Burial will follow in Daniel Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Allen, Billy, Travis, Wayne, Lynn, and Calvin. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric, Issaiah, Doyle, and Ken.
