Gilbert Arlee Marcum

Gilbert Arlee Marcum, age 81 of Oneida, TN departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN. Born in Scott County, TN on February 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Ollie Kidd Marcum. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Jewell Musgrove, Joyce Adams, Pauline Phillips, and Shirley Jean Foster; brothers, Billie and M.T. Marcum and Esau “Bud” Marcum; brothers-in-law, Ira Lee Foster, Gene Musgrove, and Philip Adams.

Gilbert is survived by one brother, Jackie Marcum; one sister, Lucy Marcum; special friends and staff at SAI; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may visit with the Marcum family on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Ledford and Bro. Keith Marcum officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Richard Foster, Trevor Foster, Darien Foster, Travis Foster, Melcin Stephens and Jacob Ledford.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
