Harlan Smith

Harlan Smith, age 91 of Oneida, TN, departed this life on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Born in Lancing, TN on March 27, 1929, he was the son of the late Tom and Edna Howard Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Beulah Smith Blevins and Georgia Smith Hawkins; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Blevins, Floyd Hawkins and Walter Smith; and special niece, Libby West.

Harlan is survived by his sister, Mona Smith; nieces, Diana Geier, Carol Jeffers, Sue Nutt, Betty Sexton, and Wanda Hawkins; nephews, Bobby, Johnny, James, and Donnie Smith; special friend, Donnie West; and many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Smith family on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Sexton officiating. Music will be provided by Patricia and Leah West.

Committal service will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Opossum Rock Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Donnie Smith, Johnny Smith, Bobby Smith, James Smith, Grainger Smith and Jimmy Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be: Shane Lewallen, Ben Jones, Stephen West, Donnie West, Shane Cooper, and Chris Bauswell. 

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
