Harold Wilson Obituary

Harold Wilson, age 92 of Helenwood, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center with loving family at his side. He was born in Helenwood on July 9, 1930, to the late Rev. Walter L. Wilson and Gertie Day Wilson. He attended Church of God of Helenwood.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Ruth Jeffers; son, Wayne Wilson; grandsons, Eric Wilson and Chad Miller; an infant sister; brothers, William (Bill) H. Wilson and wife Delphie, Hubert Wilson and wife Wilma, Walter Wilson Jr. and wife Lillie, Lee Wilson and wife Louise; niece, Tina Wilson Bratt; nephews, Danny Wilson, Ray Wilson, and Louie Wilson; brother-in-law, David Jeffers; son-in-law, Paul Thomas.

Harold is survived by his wife, Mae Wilson; daughter, Dee-Dee Sharp and husband Jackson, Ruth Thomas, and Cora Miller; granddaughter, Myah Sharp who was the love of his life; brother, Gene Wilson and wife Elizabeth; several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; special buddy, Kaleb Layne and all of his special friends on the CB that he enjoyed talking with over the years.

Friends may visit with the Wilson family on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Joe West and Bro. David Brewster officiating. Music will be provided by Allen and Diane Carson and Jackie West.

Committal service will follow in the Marcum Cemetery in Helenwood. Pallbearers will be: Paul Bauswell, David Wilson, Dean Wilson, Jackson Sharp, Blake Layne, and Kenny Newport. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kevin Carson, Jim Huckeby, L.A. Newport, James Brewster, and Gene Brown.
