Homer Carol Chambers

Homer Carol Chambers, age 84 of Helenwood, TN passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born in Scott County on September 28, 1935; he was the son of the late Levi Chambers and Winnie Phillips Chambers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Ella Chambers; daughter, Peggy Chambers son, Timothy Chambers; 7 brothers Otis, Robert, Dennis, Harold, Milford, Bill, and Paul Chambers: 3 sisters Phyllis Hughett, Sadie Sexton, and Augfie Chambers.  

He is survived by his 4 children, Sue Thompson and husband Mark of Helenwood, TN, Jan Walker of Strunk, KY, Jay Chambers of Helenwood, TN and Julie Foster of Oneida, TN; Sister Pauline Jeffers; several grandchildren, Tammy, Lori, April, Robin, Annie, Mickey, Jay, Mary and Santina; great grandchildren, Hannah, Marlana, Emily, Koda, Kalie, Tawanna, Johnathon, Andrew, Colt, Zoey, Jeremiah, Bryson, William, Lillian, Baileigh, Jacob, Donna Jo and Ethan; niece Ann Harness, who was raised as his sister; nephew Roy Lee Layne; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Chambers family on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. John Melton officiating. 

Committal service will follow in the Scott Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oneida. Pallbearers will be: Mark, Josh, and Mickey.
