Ina Jeffers Obituary

Ina Harness Jeffers, age 71 of Huntsville, TN entered into the loving arms of the Lord and Savior on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Tennova North Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 24, 1950, in Scott County, TN and was the oldest daughter of the late Melvin and Emiline Bowling Harness. Ina was of the Baptist faith, and she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior when she was a young girl. She was a member of the White Rock Baptist Church. In her younger adult years, she taught little people’s church and a Sunday school class with her dear friends Naomi Keeton and Holly Yancey. To know her was to love her…kind, sweet, and a gentle heart. Ina always went above and beyond, she always put others needs before herself…she loved with all of her heart, and she showed it each and every day. She retired from Tennier in 2015, after working there for 33 years. She loved her Tennier family. After retirement, she stayed busy working on sewing projects for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louise Harness Cross, Odie Harness, Debbie Harness, Avery Harness, and Delbert Harness; mother-in-law, Marie Barnes; sister-in-law, Lynn Barnes Sexton; brothers-in-law, James “Bunkus” Barnes and Mike Barnes; and niece, Brandy Byrd Litton.

Ina is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Carlos Jeffers; daughters, Misty Jeffers, Hope Tompkins and husband Joey, Beth West and husband Brandon, “adopted daughters” she considered as her own – Lisa Crowley and Heather Sexton; grandchildren, Adriana Tompkins, Blake Tompkins and Carlee Tompkins; sister, Ada West and husband Darrell; brothers, Quinton Harness and wife Becky, and Alton Harness; brother-in-law, Virgil Cross; sister-in-law, Sheila Barnes Byrd and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Will Barnes; very special nurse and friend, Regina Sharpe; many other relatives and friends.

Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at White Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Jim West and Bro. Carlie Duncan officiating. Music will be provided by the Young Testifiers.

Committal service will follow in the Annadell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Carlos Jeffers, Blake Tompkins, Brandon West, Joey Tompkins, Cayden Byrd, and Chad Birchfield. Honorary pallbearers will be: Alvin McDonald, LB Crabtree, and Gary Burchfield.
