Ina Robbins, 98, of Cookeville, passed away on October 2, 2025, at her home in Cookeville, TN with her daughter and beloved grandsons at her bedside.
Born in Robbins, TN, December 23, 1926, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jonathan and Julia Sexton Robbins; brothers: Lawrence, Virgil, Kermit, and John Riley Robbins; sisters: Mae Hardwick, Florene Basler, Zona Walker, and Mattie Walker; nephews: Johnny Walker and Kent Robbins; special cousin Garland Robbins; and former husband James Fred Bowling.
Ina’s first job was teaching at the Slick Rock School on Brimstone. She was for years a member of Low Gap Baptist Church, and later Riverside Baptist Church in Miami. Ina was always a highly valued and much-loved employee wherever she worked. She had a natural ability to brighten anyone’s day. Ina held the position of office manager at an insurance agency in Cookeville, TN for many years, and finally on to Florida where she was placed in charge of the purchasing department for Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami, a position she held until her retirement, when she eventually returned to Cookeville, TN.
Ina is survived by her daughter, Debra “Debbie” Bowling and son-in-law, Dr Peter Ferrer; beloved grandsons, Jonathan Robbins-Ferrer and James Robbins-Ferrer; much loved nieces and nephews: Anita Walker of Oneida, TN; Carol MacKay, Patty (Tom) Fitzgerald, and Donnie (Julie) Hardwick, all of Louisville, KY; Gale (Karen) Hardwick of Columbus, IN; Beth Ann Beck (Joe) of Fairland, IN; and Mike O’Neal of Tullahoma, TN; Anna Ruth (Alonzo) Lawson of Oneida; and special cousins: Preston (Mary Ann) Robbins of Hot Springs, AR; Frank Burroughs of Walnut Creek, CA; and many other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Robbins family on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 2 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Smithers officiating. Music will be provided by Tony Daugherty.
Committal service will follow in the Slick Rock Cemetery in Robbins.
