Ira Lee Foster, age 80, of Oneida, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 28, 1937 to the late Homer Foster and Dorothy West Foster in Oneida, Tennessee.
He was a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and church clerk at Grave Hill Baptist Church and a deacon at Foster Crossroads Baptist Church for many years. He served in the US Armed Forces and was an E4 Rifle Specialist.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Jean Marcum Foster; son: Ricky Lee Foster.
He is survived by his children: Richard L. Foster and wife Marilyn, Patricia Foster, Katherine Foster Ledford and husband Jeffrey, and his cat Shelby “Poochie” Foster; brother: Kenneth Foster; sister: Wilma Foster; daughter-in-law: Barbara Foster; brothers-in-law: Gilbert “Arlee” Marcum and Jackie Marcum; sister-in-law: Linda Foster and Lucy Marcum; grandchildren: Levi Foster, Travis Foster and wife Hannah, Trevor Foster and wife Heather, Ashley Foster, Darien Foster and fiancé Alisha Broyles, and Jacob Ledford; great grandchildren: Brook Foster, Paisley Foster, and Payden Foster; nieces Linda Sue Stephens, Denise Cross; special mention: UT Hospice Group, Quality Home Health, Mountain Peoples of Winfield; special friends: Laura Cannon Brewster and Tealie West; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Foster family on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6 until 9 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Jeffrey Ledford Bro. Melvin Stephens officiating in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Levi Foster, Travis Foster, Trevor Foster, Richard Foster, Darien Foster, and Jacob Ledford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Kenneth Foster, Tyler Henry and Melvin Stephens.
