Irene (Perkins) Adkins

Irene Perkins Adkins, age 88 of Winfield, TN passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Huntsville Manor.  Born May 9, 1931 in Silerville, KY, she was the daughter of Carl and Della Stephens Perkins.   She was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years:  Floyd Lee Adkins; beloved daughter:  Delores Ann Adkins Roark; grandson:  Dwayne (Junior) Adkins and Jason Lee Adkins; Great-great grandson:  Jayden Allen Blevins; nephew:  Dustin Posey; niece:  Charlotte Strunk Smith; siblings:  Eugene, Jack and Carl Perkins, Jr., Blanche Perkins Strunk and Shirley Perkins Taylor; and special brother-in-law:  Melvin Newport.

Irene is survived by her sons:  Dwayne (Sharon) Adkins, and David (Judy) Adkins, special friend Chessie KIng ; grandchildren:  Robbie Adkins, Stacy (Chris) Marlow, Pennie and Renee Trammell; great grandchildren:  Ashley (Matt) Stephens, Dwayne Aaron Adkins, Jordan (Rafael) Ortiz, Raysa (Corey) Lay, Christian (Matt) Blevins, Logan Marlow and Jaylee Adkins; great-great grandchildren:  Hunter and Lexi Stephens, Levi Adkins, Rylan Blevins, Chloe and Brannon Lay and Victoria Ortiz; special brother-in-law:  Morris Adkins; siblings:  Jerry (Judy) Perkins and Carolyn (Carroll) Clark; special niece:  Tracey Posey Douglas, and other nieces and nephews; her extended family that took care of her this last year:  Huntsville Manor Staff:  Taylor, Kasey, Wendy, Lodena, Lindsay and Kelsi; as well as many other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Adkins family on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Strunk and Bro. Jim Strunk officiating. Music will be provided by Bro. Chris Sewell.

Committal service will follow in the Floyd Adkins Cemetery in Winfield, TN.  Pallbearers will be:  Robbie Adkins, Morris Adkins, Matt Blevins, Corey Lay, Chris Marlow, Logan Marlow, Rafael Ortiz and Brian Smith.
