J. C. Lloyd

J.C. Lloyd, age 81 of the Cherry Fork community in Helenwood, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his home.  He was born on November 30, 1938 in Scott County, and was the son of the late Marion and Lucille Harness Loyd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death  by brothers James L. Lloyd and Frankie Lloyd, sister Dorothy Kidd, nephew Randy Lowe, brothers-in-law Alan Kidd, James K. Smith, father and mother in law Elmer and Dorothy Sexton Brown, grandparents Louis and Margaret Lawson Lloyd and Johnny and Cora Lawson Harness.

J.C. retired as supervisor from the Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1993 after 34 years of service. He was a long time member of the Capital Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  He joined in 1960 and played guitar for both the youth and adult choirs.  He was a member of the Robbins Masonic Lodge #670.

He is survived by his wife of  63 years Geneva Brown Lloyd, sons Rick Lloyd and wife Brenda of Nashville and Steve Lloyd and wife Tina of Oneida, grandsons Joshua Lloyd and Seth Lloyd of Nashville, brother Jimmy Ray Lloyd and wife Virgie of Norma, sister in law Joyce Lloyd of Pioneer, and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Friends may visit with the Lloyd family on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 3 p.m. until time of the funeral at 6 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida with Pastor Dewayne Lawson and Brother Ledford Byrd officiating.  Music will be provided by Chris Sewell.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Committal service will follow in Carson Memorial Park.

With the Health Guidelines in place at this time, we ask that you be mindful of the social distancing measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control. Masks are required.
