James Albert Harness

James Albert Harness, age 64 of the Winona community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed being a mechanic. He loved to deer hunt and coon hunt and spending time with his grandkids.

James Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cardella Harness and two sisters, Joann Preeman and Karen Baird.

He is survived by his daughters, Tracy Hutson (Josh) of Annadell, Jama Hickman (Brian) of Helenwood, and Macy Helton (Shane) of Oneida; nine grandkids, Malachi (Kane Pole), Joslyn (Sissy), Camren (Hammer), Cheven (Chevron), Jenna (Dolly), Bodie (little Albert), Harlan (PeeJib), Auslon (Monkey), Lyndi (LJ); three sisters, Joyce Carson of Huntsville, Lois Byrd of Winona, Angie Chitwood (Shannon) of Winona; two brothers, Rick Harness of Norma, Jerry Lee Harness of Annadell; a loving girlfriend Stacy Bowling; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Friends may visit with the Harness family on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Dudley Harness officiating. Music will be provided by Jessie Harness.

Committal service will follow in the Bull Creek Cemetery in Huntsville.
