Jared Lee Henry Obituary

Jared Lee Henry, age 47, of Coalfield, Tennessee (formerly of Scott County, TN) passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was born on March 9, 1973 to Dolphus and Brenda Pemberton Henry. Jared was married to Christina (Reynolds) Henry for 23 years. His children, Leeah Marie and Austin Jared (AJ), were loved beyond measure and were the light of his life.

Jared was a member of Barton Chapel Congregational Church in Robbins, TN, but presently attended Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Coalfield.

Jared graduated from Oneida High School in 1991 and from Tennessee Technological University in August, 1995. He began his teaching career at Oneida Middle School in 1995 and was also head OMS Football Coach. Jared began coaching at Oneida High School in 2000. In 2005, Jared’s journey changed course and he joined the staff at Petros Joyner and the coaching staff at Coalfield High School. In 2013, he moved to Coalfield School and loved working and coaching in this wonderful community.
Jared firmly believed in the 5F’s: Faith, Family, Friends, Football and Fishing. Jared’s faith in the Lord was unwavering, and he truly led by example. Family was always his focus and he truly loved Christina, Leeah and AJ with all his heart. He was the best husband and dad we could have ever asked for and knew just how to make us feel so special. One would be hard pressed to find a more loyal and faithful friend than Jared, and he had many treasured friendships. Football was not only his calling but also his passion. His ability to create All-State Linebackers and amazing defensive schemes will live on in the players he coached. “Close games build character, you can’t learn to win them if you are never in them” was one of his favorite quotes. Fishing was something he loved since childhood and cherished his time on the water with family and friends.

Jared was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Dolphus and Brenda Henry, brother, Keith Henry and father-in-law, Paul Reynolds.

Jared is survived by his wife of 23 years, Christina Reynolds Henry. Daughter, Leeah Marie Henry, son, Austin Jared (AJ) Henry.
