Jason A. Jeffers, son of the late Crawford and Beulah (Newport) Jeffers was born on February 26, 1959. At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ and joined Buffalo Baptist Church of Winona where he served as a devoted Deacon for 25 years.
Jason’s love for woodworking was evident in each creation. Those creations can be found scattered throughout the homes of each person he loved and held dear. He quietly departed this life on January 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 32 years Patricia “Patty “Jeffers, brothers Phillip Jeffers, and Greg Jeffers; sister Nona Jeffers. Parents-in-law Ben and Wanda Newport, brothers-in-law Brent Robinson and Jimmy Banks and sister-in-law Missy Banks Gibson.
Jason is survived by the children of his heart: Canaan Lay and Clairee Lay, sister Ruby Robinson, brothers Jerry, Gary and Roger “Dipstick” Jeffers all of Winona, Homer (Phyllis) Jeffers of Robbins. Sisters-in-law Lisa Banks of Winona, Annie (Joey) York of Robbins and Lora Lay of Winona. Family members Nancy, Dustin, Cheyenne “Sunshine,” Titus and Paige Slaven of the Winona Community. He will be dearly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family.
Survived by: Nephews: Daniel Blevins of Oneida, TN, J.R. Bruce of Robbins, TN, Nieces: Lexi Bruce of Robbins, TN, Cara (Alex) Brown of Williamsburg, KY, Great Niece: Sara (Dallas) West and Boys of Oneida, TN, Aunts: Onnie Newport of Winona, TN, L.A. Newport of Oneida, TN, Jewel (Burnice) Newport of Robbins, TN.
Friends may visit with the Jeffers family on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan, Rev. Gary Griffith, and Bro. Don Hughett officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry and Angie Day and the Winona Church Choir.
Committal service will follow in the William “Ben” Newport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Canaan Lay, Titus Slaven, Nicky Duncan, Logan Duncan, Jeff “Harry” Miller, and Gene Hatfield. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dustin Slaven and J.R. Bruce.
